Master Thesis — Evaluation of 4G mobile broadband network
This is an opportunity for a Master of Science student to work with technology leading radio network simulations and the latest technology in the mobile industry.
Long-Term Evolution, LTE (also called 4G) is the next-generation mobile network. Compared to today's networks LTE can offer higher data rates, lower latency and higher capacity. This thesis project is targeted at evaluating the performance of 4G mobile broadband network. Key performance aspects to evaluate are network coverage and capacity. The evaluation will be made using an advanced Matlab-based radio network simulator which models the radio environment in a real radio network with high accuracy. The high accuracy is obtained by using maps with high resolution, building database and site data from the studied area. The result of the master thesis should be concluded in a presentation and a report, the report may also include methodology improvements and changes in simulation process.
You should be a Master of Science student in electrical engineering, applied physics or similar. Courses in wireless communication theory and signal processing as well as experiences of communication systems are considered valuable merits but are not required.
The successful candidate must have
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Good matlab skills
Good communications skills
You are a self-motivated and positive person.
