Background to thesis:
Fuel consumption becomes more and more important, both for the environment and competitive means (operating cost for truck owner). The Air Condition systems in vehicles use energy from the engine and affect both the fuel consumption and the emissions. There are several methods to minimize the power consumption for Air Condition. One way is to minimize the need for cooling; another way is to optimize the COP for the refrigerant loop.

Description of thesis:
Based on istructions from supervisor, go through and enlarge an existing list of proposals in order to minimize the power consumption of the AC-system for a typical heavy truck.

Make a theoretical investigation of the potential of each topic, and prioritize/range them on feasibility, cost etc. The job contains investigations, calculations, contacts internally Volvo 3P and externally with suppliers and testing companies. There is also a possibility that some proposals can be built in and tested in a truck.
