Thesis work - Assess the feasibility of using an open-source code for parallel fluid dynamics calculations
Your role will be to assess the feasibility of using an open-source code (such as OpenFOAM) for parallel fluid dynamics calculations. The ultimate goal of the work is to implement a parallel code as a tool for two-phase gas-solid flows in fluidized beds and to develop a simple user interface (not necessarily graphical) that non-experts can employ to run simulations and view simulation results.
You have a background in fluid dynamics calculations using the finite volume method and an interest in developing and applying computational tools. You have experience using Linux-based computers and writing shell scripts. Experience using OpenFoam and ParaView is an advantage.
