Energy payback time for ocean energy
When developing a technology for renewable energy that will become an important part of a future sustainable energy system, the awareness off possible tradeoffs in terms of potential environmental impacts is of highest importance. Minesto therefore suggests the following master thesis.
The energy payback time can be defined as the time for an energy power plant to produce the amount of energy that was consumed during the production of the power plant. At Minesto, a need is seen for understanding how the energy payback time depends on design decisions.
The master thesis will include calculation of energy payback time for a Deep Green device and analysis of how different factors affect the result. It will be possible for you to affect the scope of the project.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for one or two engaged and self-going students. The work will be supported by employees at Minesto but most of the work will have to be done independently. It is an advantage if you are familiar with life cycle assessment methodology although your personality and interest is of higher importance.
