It’s TIME for IKEA IT to take responsibility and to get involved in Social & Environmental Issues at IKEA! IKEA Low prices are the cornerstone of the IKEA vision, business idea and concept. There must never be the slightest doubt that we take a responsible approach to offering good design and quality at the best possible price. IKEA wants its products to have the minimum possible impact on the environment. Products shall be manufactured in a socially responsible manner. All suppliers must, within a specified period of time, follow the IKEA code of conduct, The IKEA Way on Purchasing Home Furnishing Products (IWAY). Child labour is not tolerated, working conditions must be acceptable, and suppliers must adopt a responsible attitude towards the environment.

IKEA Social & Environmental Issues are divided in to 6 areas:
- Products & materials
- Suppliers
- Energy & Transport
- Buildings & infrastructure
- Community involvement
- Leadership & Competence.

These means a mapping inventory and analyze of the S&E direction at IKEA IT today. With this information as basis analyzing the present situation in the respect of S&E strategy. How to measure goal fulfillment in quality aspects and with a sound practical approach. It is of outmost importance that we get a suggestion on HOW to priorities the activities mapped to the future NEED.

We are looking for 2 motivated students that will do their x-job, 20 p, during spring 2007. You should have adequate education within the area of environmental engineering or equal. The research and essay will be performed at IKEA IT in Älmhult and trips to Helsingborg & Germany could be required. We want you to start about the 15th of March and the assignment should be ready around the 15th of May 2007.
