Suggested Master Thesis
To investigate Windows CE 6.0, a variation of Microsoft's Windows operating system for minimalistic computers and embedded systems, as a suitable platform for mobile devices - Smartphones, Mobile Phones.
To port an existing Windows Mobile BSP, Board Support Package - a collection of device drivers, startup code, linker scripts, and compiler support files for a specific hardware, to Windows CE 6.0. This will include Windows Driver development and adaptation, mainly programming C/C++.
Skills and technologies
Win 32 API, device driver programming, ARM processors like TI OMAP, C/C++ programming, MS Platform Builder integrated development environment.
Number of students and study background
This work is ideally suited for 2 students studying on the D or E (programming specialization) Masters Program.
