Industrial MSc-thesis in Computer Vision, 4-6 months

AbsolutVision (AV) is a company that deals with intelligent computer vision solutions for the IT-industry. AV delivers high-end quality assured solutions for various branches of online image and video media.
In collaboration with the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and the Computational Vision and Active Perception Laboratory (CVAP) we are now offering an interesting and highly rewarding master thesis project in computer science. More exactly, in this project the student will implement a state-of-the-art Face Recognition system to run as an online server. The student will continue on a previous master thesis performed on the matter where skin detection and face detection were preliminary parts in the face recognition process.

The suggested steps for this project are:
1) Improvement of the face detection process (boosted cascade of classifiers)
2) Architecture for several layers of recognition (LBP-features, SVM, Eigenface)
3) Server script enabling online communication with the face recognition engine



Required skills: Strong programming skills (C/C++, Matlab, some scripting language), familiar with basic machine learning and computer vision (SVM, Boosting, ANN, PCA etc.)
Understanding of web protocols, familiarity with using large databases is required. Correctness and scalability are the two most important goals when developing at AV.

AV offers a financial compensation at the end of the project.
