En analys metod för genomtryck för Offset tryck/Characterization of print through in Offset

Arbetet avser att utveckla en metod för att utvädera genomtryck för Offset tryck (försätter i Engelska)

Print through (PT) refers to the fact that the printed feature is visible from the reverse side of the paper. There are two processes that contribute to PT: strike through resulting from ink penetration into the paper substrate; show through due to insufficient opacity of the paper substrate. PT relates closely to paper-making process and is therefore an important indictor for the quality of the paper substrate and prints.

A new mathematical model for PT characterization is under development at Holmen Paper Development (HPD) Center, using images scanned with a flatbed scanner. The goal of this diploma work is to implement and test the new method, in the form of computer program. The diploma-work student will work closely with the supervisor, situated in Norrköping city, with possible contacts with paper mill in Braviken, outside of Norrköping.

It is expected that you have fundamental knowledge of mathematics and/or physics and is skillful in programming.
