Fault diagnosis on a hydraulic vehicle control system

In recent years motor vehicle are being more and more equipped with systems which control the lateral, vertical and/or longitudinal dynamics. These systems have the task to improve the comfort, driving behavior and the safety of the vehicle. However faults occurring on the system can have critical impact on vehicles behavior and drivability.

There are different detection and localization (isolation) methods of faults in a system. Analytical model-based methods compare the actual behavior of the system with a mathematical model of the system driven by the same inputs. The deviation between the model and actual system is called residue. Fault diagnosis requires residual generation and evaluation.


The project consists of the following tasks
¿ investiagtion different existing residual evaluation concepts,
¿ simulation and experimental investigation of the methods on a hydraulic test-rig.

The project will be done in close cooperation between the university and its industrial partners. The duration is limited to 6 months.
