Master of Science Thesis Work ¿ Development Kit for Dependable Platform

QRtech have a long history within the field of fault tolerant computer design for the automotive industry and is contracted by both university and industry to assist them within this field. In combination QRtech has in a number of projects developed electronics, including both hardware and software design, to the automotive industry for more than 20 years. This combination makes QRtech a strong partner for the automotive industry for the next step to introduce electronic systems with high requirements on dependability.

QRtech now wants to take a proactive step in this evolution of electronic systems and make available a development kit for dependable platforms (DKDP). The development kit will be based on the hardware developed within the GAST project founded partial by VINNOVA and the automotive industry, that aims to develop and produce evaluation boards for dependable applications.

The main focus on the diploma work is to specify and develop all parts for the DKDP. Other parts developed within the GAST project shall be adapted to the DKDP to make the dependable platform easy to use for the end user. The diploma work will contain:

¿development or adaptation of system layers, I/O drivers and communication drivers for single chip computers that can be used for applications with high dependability
¿specification and adaptation of development environment tools
¿documentation and development of installation programs for the DKDP

The required skill and interest covers PC-programming, machine oriented programming of embedded control systems based on single chip computers and electronics. Two Master of Science Diploma workers are needed for this work and their skill and interest might overlap or complement. The work is to be started in the end of August 2004 and finished at the end of 2004.
