Background
All engineering documentation today is authored in MS Word and read as single documents either in electronic form (MS Word and PDF) and paper-format. The documents are electronically stored in the DokArk system.
Description
The work is to create a webbased portal for engineering documents and to propose a new process for authoring documents. The purpose is to increase the efficiency in the engineering environment by making it easier for engineers to find infomation.
The current activities should be performed in steps to complete the thesis:
- learn about organization, working procedures and current systems
- learn about existing technologies, e.g. XML and DocBook
- requirements of new system
- design new system
- implementation
The work should be performed by two persons.
