Searching for a master thesis student for a system modeling project in SystemC
The student we are looking for is highly motivated and independent with strong programming skills as well as good knowledge of signal processing. Knowledge of circuit design and a C/C++ like programming language is highly desirable. Knowledge of SystemC is not mandatory but a plus as this will be the modeling language.
Develop a model of Catena’s WISPA WiMAX MIMO transceiver. This will include modeling of analog and digital blocks in SystemC. The project will also involve interfacing with existing models (written in Verilog and MatLab) and the developed models should allow for refinement by replacement. The scope of the project can possibly be adjusted to fit the research interest of the student.
The modeling language is SystemC and the modeling will be done using templates developed at KTH. The project will therefore be carried out in close cooperation with KTH. The student will be assigned a supervisor both at Catena and KTH. The project will mostly be carried out at Catena Wireless Electronics in Kista, but may require part time at KTH.
Catena is an independent design house working with System and IC development for various communication applications; e.g. GSM/GPRS, WCDMA, WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, Satellite receivers, FM Tuners, TV Tuners and Medical Electronics. Our developments are mainly one chip solutions including RF, Analog, Mixed Signal, DSP and Embedded Software. Catena was founded in the Netherlands in 1986 and is employing 150 skilled engineers. We have in total four design centers, two in the Netherlands, one in Sweden and one in Austria. Our customers are both large multinational semiconductor companies as well as smaller high innovation companies, with whom we have established successful long term cooperation and increased customer revenues. We are working with most of the large semiconductor foundries in the world, e.g. TSMC, GLOBALFOUNDRIES and IBM.
