Development of a control system for semi-active shock absorbers to a car
Your task is to develop a control system for semi-active dampers. The system uses sensor data such as (wheel speed, steering angle, accelerometers, etc.) to control and regulate the semi-active dampers. The solution is supposed to consist partly out of an ECU that is integrated in the car and a handheld device (laptop / PDA / cell phone) for parameterisation of the control system and data logging. Communication between the hand held device and the ECU in the car can be wireless. The system's function and performance will be tested in a car at the end of the thesis work.
Who are you?
Since the thesis consists of hardware and software development, experience from these areas is necessary. The controller requires knowledge of real-time systems and hardware-close programming in C.
Experience of Java programming and wireless communication is positive. A genuine interest in vehicles, automotive electronics and electronic design in general is favourable.
The work is intended for 2 students, preferably from E, D, F or Z master programme.
Thesis work conducted at the premises of Torlab AB Gothenburg/Sisjön.
