Switched Capacitor Amplifier Design for Radar Baseband Processing

The Leibniz Institute IHP performs research and development primarily in the area of wirelesscommunications, including SiGe-based technologies, diagnostics, and materials research. The institute isworking in a multidisciplinary environment, spanning materials, process technology, circuits, and systems.The IHP is housed in a state-of-the-art building 55 minutes from Berlin, with ultra-modern facilities. The research is focused on Design of a switched capacitor amplifier (SCA) circuit is required in both
schematic and layout level. The circuit will be utilized for a 122 GHz radar transceiver for short-range
ranging applications. An existing amplifier design is required to be optimized with post-layout analysis, and
made ready for fabrication as a test chip.

The successful candidate has an understanding of analogue/digital circuit blocks such as OPAMPs, flipflops;
familiarity with mixed signal design techniques and CADENCE design environment (Virtuoso and
Spectre tools) in schematic/lay-out editing and verification are required.
