How could a commercial BI solution, i.e. QlikView, be used together with a proprietary business application written in .Net and M-SQL?

OBS! ANSÖKNINGSTIDEN FÖR DETTA EXJOBB HAR LÖPT UT.
Titeldata is working as a outsourcing partner for Publishing groups handling all subscription data. We have roughly 70 Publishing houses as customers and handling approx. 150 Magazines.

We offer Help Desk, production of all the data to the print houses (invoices, addresses, agreements etc). We also handles the payments and reminders.

To do this we have a proprietary in-house application we have developed ourselves. It is using .Net and the data is stored in a M-SQL database. The database is complex and quite big (70GB, 370 tables, > 1000 procedures) and there are lots of dependencies and business rules involved.

We also have our own separate simple data warehouse and some standard reports that is used by us and our customers.

We are now thinking of using a commercial BI-solution instead, i.e. QlikView, to be able to be more flexible and also give our customers the possibility to make their own reports and analyze their data.

What we would like to get help with:

- Is it possible to connect a commercial BI-solution to our application as is or do we need to modify our DB structure to do this?
- If possible, how should such an implementation be done?

If the investigation suggest it is doable we would also like the student helping us implement the solution.
