Background:
The future development of electronic systems in vehicles require a robust, high bandwidth alternative to the CAN bus. Ethernet is one of the possible technologies to meet this demand, however there are many challenges in realizing it in a truck environment.
Target:
Evaluate if Ethernet is suitable for high bandwidth applications, enabling alternative solutions for the system architecture.
Assignment:
Investigate the possibilities of using Ethernet as a communication interface in a truck environment. Focus areas are protocol implementation and how to integrate the solution into Scanias product development process.
