Thesis work - Development of chromatographic screening methods for a deeper understanding of ligand-serum protein interactions in Drug Discovery. Location AstraZeneca Mölndal.
This is an opportunity for university students in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar to perform a Master Thesis (30p).
Characterisation of drug-protein interactions is of high interest for drug discovery and pre-clinical studies in pharmaceutical research. The scope of the thesis is to utilise chromatographic assays in order to develop detailed and complementary understanding of drugs interacting with serum proteins.
You will perform practical lab work regarding assay development utilising high performance affinity chromatography (HPAC) with UV and MS detection. Preferrably you will use statistical design to plan your experiments and evaluate your results. This to allow an efficient evaluation of different immobilised serum proteins and their interactions with target molecules.
You are a master student in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar, knowledge in fundamental separation science will be a merit. You have some experience in independently planning your experiments and critically analyse data.
