Efficient content distribution in IPTV environments

The IP based set-top box is mainly constructed for access to TV (IPTV) and video films (video on demand – VoD) provided through a closed network by an operator. This network is using multicast to distribute the content to the set-top boxes.
Today there are a lot of different peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies used to efficiently distribute data on the Internet.
We want you to investigate how a IP-STB connected to a network without multicast capabilities can receive video streams with P2P technology.
Expected output:
Investigation of different P2P technologies that can be used in an IPTV environment.
Implementaion and demo of a P2P client on a STB.
