Design and Implementation of Bluetooth algorithms
More and more applications are using wireless technologies; it’s the trend of today. Infineon Technologies and other companies focus on wireless communications as one of the most important areas for the future in the mobile and data-com industry. The biggest challenge facing us is to develop new applications complying with Bluetooth standard together with the WLAN and UWB (Ultra Wide Band).
The main focus of this work is to enhance and develop algorithms compliant with the newest Bluetooth standard. Such algorithms cover adaptive frequency hopping (AFH), cryptography and Packet Loss Concealment (PLC) among others. Implementation of these algorithms will not only ensure standard compliance but will also contribute to enhance system performance.
Targeted milestones of the thesis work include: 1- Study of already implemented algorithms and Bluetooth Stack. 2- Research for alternative implementations and enhancements. 3 – Algorithm Design. 4- Implementation of the algorithms (C-language). 4- Verification of results. 5- Report and presentation.
You will use development tools like Visual C++ (only C required), ClearCase and other engineering design tools (Matlab). Your will work at the software department closely together with Software designers.
You shall be M.Sc. student or the equivalent with solid knowledge about programming, algorithms, cross layer protocols, wireless communication standards (Bluetooth, WLAN), with a strong interest in firmware development engineering.
