Automotive Radar Demonstrator Test and PCB Design

OBS! ANSÖKNINGSTIDEN FÖR DETTA EXJOBB HAR LÖPT UT.
Acreo AB is developing low-cost radar for automotive applications. Automotive radars increase safety by adaptive cruise control (ACC), collision warning, blind spot surveillance, parking assistance. A long-range radar demonstrator has been already designed and assembled. It has to be tested and documented. Based on the measurement results a modified printed circuit board (PCB) has to be developed for a new short range radar demonstrator application. The PCB should include a phase locked loop (PLL), analog-to-digital conversion, and USB interface devices. All these devices have already been designed with the required software to control the frequency synthesizer. The focus is to modify and optimize the existing system for the long range radar application.

Requirements
• Experience in measurement and device testing
• Measurement control and automation with LabVIEW tool
• Experience in PCB design (preferably in OrCAD tool)
• Knowledge in analog RF and mixed-signal system design
• Circuit design and simulation (e.g. SPICE type simulator)
• Experience in device control using USB interface and firmware is a preference
• Ability to work and easily communicate in a team
• Open and enthusiastic personality

Time plan and Location
The thesis work as defined above is scheduled for 20 weeks and starts as soon as suitable candidates are found. The thesis work will be carried out at Acreo AB in Norrköping.
